Investment 101: How to Get Started With Stocks, Crypto, or Forex Trading

By Frank Allen

Did you know that, according to a recent report, over 63% of Americans are confused about employer-sponsored retirement plans like the 401K? The result is that many Americans are either not taking advantage of these opportunities and actively saving and planning for retirement; or they are passive observers of their own future, as they totally leave their retirement and investment planning to the "experts."

In fact, a recent PEW study found that 41 percent of millennials, 35 percent of Gen-X, and 30 percent of boomers, respectively, do not have access to any employer-sponsored retirement plan. That is a lot of individuals who are not contributing to an employer-sponsored retirement plan.

And here is even the painful part of that picture, as reported by Pew Charitable Trusts: even with those who have retirements plans available to them, only 52 percent of millennials, 80 percent of boomers, 75 percent of Gen-Xers , respectively, are making contributions to those retirement accounts.

Why? First, for millennials, there is this assumption that they still have plenty of time before the "end" comes. The tendency is to wait for the next big job or the next big financial hit before actively investing for the future. Remember that false invincibility cloak?

But for most people, the most recurring theme we hear from people is this idea that the financial system is so complex that they do not even know where to begin. So, most people either just give up, or they bury their heads in hard work and hope that the future would be alright.
